The Dzugan Method - What is for?

A Discovery of Health and Hope. Each individual’s needs are different for attaining a healthy hormonal balance. The Dzugan Method takes these differences into account, creating personalized programs so that every patient receives the right hormones and nutrients, in the right dosages, at the right time. Like many medical breakthroughs, the Dzugan Method was discovered serendipitously.

In 1996, Dr. Sergey Dzugan MD, PhD, was researching ways to improve the health and strengthen the
immune systems of cancer patients through hormonal treatments. Soon, many patients who also suffered from migraine headaches reported that they were migraine free.

Dr. Dzugan closely analyzed his treatment plans and started to develop his theories on the underlying causes not only of migraines, but other serious and chronic conditions.

The result of Dr. Dzugan’s research is new hope for literally millions of people suffering from chronic and debilitating diseases.

Simply put, he discovered that, when people’s hormonal and nutrient levels are restored to a healthy and natural balance, they can avoid many conditions, including migraines, high cholesterol, menopause, and erectile dysfunction.

The Dzugan Method has profoundly improved the lives of hundreds of people around the world who had suffered for years with little or no relief from conventional drug treatments and for those that just wanted to improve their quality of life. These people are living proof that bodies in natural balance are naturally healthy.

Some of the treatments will include:

Menopause

Menopause is the natural stage of life in which the levels of a woman’s sex hormones decline dramatically - primarily estrogen and progesterone. As estrogen and progesterone levels decline and the desirable balance between them becomes unhinged, women can experience a wide variety of signs and symptoms. The impact of these imbalances varies from woman to woman, but they include:

• Brain: hot flashes, anxiety, depression, fatigue, mood swings, libido, night sweats and insomnia.
• Sexual Organs: vaginal dryness resulting in pain with intercourse.
• Skin: dryness, growth of facial and body hair.
• Heart: rapid heart rate, atherosclerosis and elevated cholesterol.
• Immune System: susceptibility to disease and cancers.
• Bone Density: loss becomes common.
• Eyesight: Macular Degeneration.

Because estrogens and progesterone have many competing effects, it is especially important to keep these hormones in balance during this transitional period to keep symptoms at bay and to make the passage into menopause as smooth as possible.

Natural Management of Menopause

One of the safest and most effective ways to approach this natural part of a woman’s life is Dzugan Method and the creation of a customized Program of bio-identical hormones, supplements and vitamins to restore a proper balance to the hormones. We begin by taking blood samples to determine hormone and body chemistry levels and then we develop a program that addresses a woman’s unique needs.

Although our focus is on restoring balance to estriol, estradiol, estrone, and progesterone, we also note other hormone deficiencies and balance them as well, adding natural nutrients as necessary.

One factor that is very important to remember is that as we grow older, there are significant age-related changes in hormone production and patterns of their release to the body. The goal of your Program is to safely restore your body’s hormones to a level that is right for you and it is important to understand that there is a feedback process that you will undertake with your physician to continually optimize your Program as you body adapts to it over time.

Erectile Dysfunction

Insufficient hormone levels can negatively impact virtually every aspect of a man’s body, For example, testosterone helps control blood sugar, regulates mental concentration, improves mood, and builds muscle. Around the age of 35, a man’s testosterone and other key hormones begin to decline.

Symptoms of such decline can include:

• Erectile Dysfunction - Poor sex drive, diminished libido
• High Cholesterol
• Cardiovascular & Heart Disease
• Fatigue
• Weight Gain
• Poor Stamina & Decreased Muscle Mass
• Poor Self-Esteem
• Osteoporosis
• Sleep Disorders
• Weight Gain
• Hair loss

Over 100 million men today are taking Viagra, antidepressants, and other pharmaceuticals which merely treat symptoms. But the Dzugan Method addresses the underlying cause of these problems by restoring healthy hormonal, nutrient, and vitamin levels via customized supplement programs. The result – most of our clients have reduced or completely eliminated their use of medications.

The Dzugan Method is designed to restore your hormones with a customized bio-identical hormone, vitamin and supplement program based on your medical history and laboratory results.

No two programs are alike and most all of our male Clients have reduced or completely eliminated their use of medications for the above conditions after restoring their hormones to healthy levels.

Migraine

Migraine is not a single disorder, but a collection of disorders that may be the result your body's chemical imbalance.

Many theories on migraines state that they are caused by imbalances of one system or deficiencies in specific biological levels. At Dzugan, we believe that migraine is caused by the imbalance of multiple systems and that the nature of such imbalance is completely specific to the individual.

Therefore, the Dzugan Method was developed to fully understand you, and then work with you and your physician to balance your physiology and prevent migraine. Although laboratory test results are an essential part of the Dzugan Method, your personal, emotional, and social profile must be onsidered when developing your Program.

We understand that you have much to tell us, and your story is absolutely critical because every person reveals unique characteristics and experiences that help us individually develop your Personalized Program.

Healthy Cholesterol Levels

It seems like cholesterol is always in the news: we hear how bad it is, which foods we need to avoid because they are high in cholesterol, and which foods to eat to help bring levels down. Perhaps most frightening of all, however, is the message from the pharmaceutical and medical communities about how more people “need” to take statin drugs to control the growing "epidemic" of high cholesterol.

There is no denying that high cholesterol is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease, including coronary heart disease, stroke, and myocardial infarction. The World Health Organization estimates that nearly 20 percent of all strokes and more than 50 percent of all heart attacks can be linked to high cholesterol.

Dzugan Method acknowledges the seriousness of cholesterol, but we also turn conventional “wisdom” on its head by stating that high cholesterol is not caused by eating too much high-cholesterol food or by a liver that is producing high amounts of the fat: we believe the cause of excess cholesterol is a multi-hormone deficiency.

How can we make that statement? Take a look at the figure on the right. Did you notice how many of your hormones, pregnenolone, DHEA, cortisol, testosterone, progesterone, and estrogens are made from cholesterol? When we are deficient in these hormones, as eventually happens in most people after the age of 35, our body responds by overproducing cholesterol in an attempt to restore a healthy hormone balance.

The Macular Program was created by Dzugan to study the benefits of Restorative Medicine on Macular Degeneration. As we get older, our bodies do not produce enough hormones - especially in the case of macular degeneration patients. As a result, the macula attempts to create its own hormones which in turn cause it to retain high amounts of cholesterol. Over a long period of time, we believe excess cholesterol accumulates in the macula in the form of drusen and results in the progression of the disease and eventual vision loss.

The Macular Program was designed to measure and restore your hormones to an optimal level so that your macula has the hormones it needs to properly function. This may slow the accumulation of drusen in the macula and may slow, stop or reverse the progression of the disease.
